An Encouraging Word from your Pastor

February 2020

OOOOOOO C’mon church!!!

What an incredible start to the Roaring 20’s that we have had in this New Year we have had at Trinity Baptist Church!!!

We have launched into this new year in a big way at Trinity and as we watch all that the Lord is doing in our midst, it brings me back to Isaiah 43:19  “See, I am doing a new thing!  Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?  I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”  God is taking such a strong foundation that has been laid here at Trinity and is doing a new thing!!!

We’ve had a full month already in January and it is amazing to hear all the stories and testimonies that are coming out of our church-wide 21 Day’s of Prayer & Fasting, seeing God’s faithfulness in going to two services, stories from those who are committed to reading the One Year Bible chronologically, and what we experienced at our “Together We worship night”!

Even those stories weekly of people who are getting plugged into Trinity through Growth Track, lives being changed, marriages being restored, and even the week to week stories of salvation and life change…what the Lord is doing in and through our church and in the lives of people in our community simply blows me away!!

The vision is growing, the impact is amazing already and we are only one month in to 2020!!  I love seeing all the new faces around our church family and it’s exciting that all those new faces are not just coming on Sunday mornings but they’re getting plugged into our church as well!

Remember “Together We are a reaching, discipling and sending church impacting generations for Christ”!!  We are seeing that mission statement come to life in so many different ways each and every week here at Trinity.

Through our “Life Change” series on Sunday mornings, we have been challenged in many ways from this journey through Acts.

Acts 9:1-19 – “Life Change requires you getting up”,  Saul had to get up and receive what the Lord was doing in his life.

Acts 9:19-31 – “Life Change Changes Everything”, enough said!!

Acts 9:32-42 – “It may be a Set-Up for your life to change”.  What we face day to day is a “set up” for us to make much of Jesus.

Acts 10 – “Life change is a mindset change”

Acts 11 – “Life Change requires Open-mindedness”- Not an open-mindedness to theology but methodology and to being open minded to what the Lord is doing in your life!!

And church, we are just in the beginning of the year!  Let us not forget Canadian County is a county that is full of un-churched people who are just waiting to be invited to church and to have the gospel shared with them. Remember that every number represents a person, every person has a story and every story has a destiny. The Gospel absolutely matters in our every day lives! May we never become a church that just celebrates the past and doesn’t move forward to what God wants to do in our tomorrow.

The Israelites themselves faced this challenged.  You can go back and read the crossing of the Jordan in the book of Joshua and when you get to Joshua 4:6, after they have crossed the Jordan and are going into the promise land, the Lord tells Joshua to build and alter of 12 stones “so that in the future when your children ask you, what do these stones mean?  Tell them that the flow of the Jordan was cut off before the ark of the covenant of the Lord.  When it crossed the Jordan the waters of the Jordan were cut off.  These stones are to be a memorial to the people of Israel forever.”   Then you fast forward into Judges 2:10 and we read “After that whole generation had been gathered to their ancestors, another generation grew up who knew either the Lord nor what he had done for Israel.”  They stop telling the story!!

May we never stop telling the story of all God has done, is doing and wants to do in the future and let’s live it out daily as Kingdom Influencers in our community.   Lets keep our eyes upward and vision forward: Proverbs 4:25-27  “Let your eyes look forward; fix your gaze straight ahead. Carefully consider the path for your feet, and all your ways will be established. Don’t turn to the right or to the left; keep your feet away from evil.”

Church, my family and I are so thankful for you and we could not be more thankful to be a part of all God is doing here along with Pastor this amazing church!!

Can I ask you to pray for a few things?

  1. Pray for my family and I as we lead this amazing church!
  2. Pray for the Armor of God over our church, staff, & our people daily. (Ephesians 6)
  3. Pray for our Staff as they lead the ministries of the church.
  4. Pray for the people of Trinity, that the Lord will continue using them as Kingdom Influencers in our community!!
