Church,

I want you to know how proud I am to call Trinity our family’s home church. It is an honor to pastor this church and I could not be more thankful for all that the Lord is doing in our midst! The Lord has been so faithful. We truly have the BEST PEOPLE!!!

We want to disciple our people in a great way here at Trinity, this has weighed heavy on my heart as your pastor and so we are working hard to provide opportunities for you to help you grow in your walk with Christ.

Remember, that Together We are a Reaching, Discipling, & Sending church impacting all generations for Christ

Let me give you an encouraging word for this month.

John 8:47 “Anyone who belongs to God, listens gladly to the words of God.”

When I was a kid I can’t say that I would always “listen gladly” to my parents. Anyone with me? They would probably say I did not “listen gladly” ever… haha! I have been so blessed to have grown up in a home in which my parents are still married today – 46 years strong, and that they always made church a priority in our family. They wanted to guide me right and I always knew that.   As I grew older and would experience the curve balls that life would throw my way, I soon discovered the voices around me were all trying to advise me, and yet I always knew there was one voice that I could always trust, a voice that I knew had my best interest at heart, and that was my parent’s voice. As a result, I would “gladly listen” to them when I needed to listen the most.

Life can be challenging, and let’s be honest, we all face challenges in our lives from time to time. During these seasons of life the culture will always be there, telling you what you want to hear or what you should do to be “happy”, but that does not mean it is what the Word of God calls you to do! As children of God, we are not called to follow the ways of the culture – we’re called to be set apart. We are not to find our validation in the ways of this world. We are to find our validation in the ways of God through His word and “listen gladly” to his voice, but this means spending time in His Word daily. Your attitude towards the Word of God will determine your spiritual altitude in living out the Word in your life. A “listens gladly” spirit is an attitude chosen by you each day. Make the choice today to choose to live out God’s word even when you don’t “feel like it” or even if it does not line up with what the world says. “Listening gladly” is a choice that you get to make. I encourage you as followers of Christ this month make it your mission to say “I chose to listen gladly to the words of God and I will live them out.” And then thank Him, that He is a God who cares, Who sees you, Who knows you, Who redeemed you, and Who loves you.  Write down 5 ways the Lord has blessed you and what you are thankful for this Holiday season and share them with your spouse, best friend or anyone you are close too.

3 Action Steps:

  1. What messages are you listening to from the culture over following the Word in your life? Journal it and then find scripture (yes, it’s ok to use Google) to claim & stand on in your life or situation, instead of the advice of the culture.
  2. Chose a smile today even if you don’t “feel like it”. Choose joy today!
  3. Write out 5 things this month that you are most thankful for… It is the month of Thanksgiving
