As I am working from home, I have been reading through the One Year the Chronological Bible with many of you, and I have also been reading a Psalm each day (most days) in the order where I started. This really feeds my soul emotionally as well as spiritually. So I would like to share some blessings that I received today from Ps.47.

Remember to old chorus that we used to sing at Trinity, that went like this: “Clap your hands, all you people, Shout to the Lord with the voice of triumph, Clap your hands, all you people, Shout to the Lord with the voice of Praise, Hosanna…”.

I’m sure that Psalm 47:1 was the inspiration for the praise song, “Shout to the Lord.” So the message for us today would be, ‘Can we clap our hands for the goodness of God toward us, and shout to Lord for joy, with a loud, triumphant voice for who He is and what He has done for us? Clapping and shouting because He loved us and sent Jesus for us… for saving us, for protecting us, and for all the blessings He has given to us!

Verses 6-7 again tell us just to stop and praise the Lord! “Sing praises to

God, sing praises! For God is the King of all the earth; Sing to Him, a psalm of praise!” The news from this world can really get us down, and in your own life there might be some real uncertainties due to the pandemic. But we can always shout to the Lord with praise, clap our hands to the One who loved us and gave His life for us, and ‘Sing to Lord.’ Why don’t you just stop and sing to Him today, praise Him and even clap your hands for His wonderful love for you?
