Wait on the Lord. Over 2000 years ago, today was a day of waiting. Waiting to see what would happen with Jesus. Would he actually conquer death, would he come out of the grave, how would he come out, what will it look like, will it happen as He said it would after 3 days?

In the Jewish culture, today is known as Shabbat, the Sabbath day of rest. No work was allowed to happen on this day. Just a day of rest. To rest and to wait. These two words don’t seem to go together. Yet, sometimes the Lord brings us to a place where we must have great faith that He will come through, there is no need for striving in the waiting so that we can rest in our faith as we wait on Him!

Rest today and remember, Exodus 14:14, “The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

As you rest today, remember that what was accomplished at the cross on Friday was for YOU!

To the rebellious, Friday was for YOU!

To the broken hearted, Friday was for YOU!

To those full of worry & anxiety, Friday was for YOU!

To those who reject Christ, Friday was for YOU!

To those who call yourselves an atheist, Friday was for YOU!

To those living in deep sin & sorrow, Friday was for you!

To those who have surrendered your life to Christ, Friday was for YOU!

I could keep going, but just remember Friday was for YOU!

So as you wait and rest today, remember what Jesus did was for YOU, so that you could have eternal life with Him!!

He proved Friday was for you on Sunday!!

1 Corinthians 15:55-57 “Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?”

The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
